GPD vehicle involved in collision at US 183, Sarah DeWitt
A Gonzales police vehicle was involved in two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 183 and Sarah DeWitt Drive (US 90A) at about 7:21 p.m. Sunday, April 21. “On Sunday, April 21, 2024, Sergeant Carrera was working traffic enforcement on 183 and 90. He and another party were involved in collision at that intersection,” Lt. Jason Montoya said. “There were no injuries to the parties involved. Details about the collision can be obtained from the Texas Department of Public Safety, who conducted the crash investigation.”

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs finished the season as bi-district finalist for their 2024 softball season. The Lady Mustangs earned top honors in District 26-3A All-District. Junior Haliee Houseton was named Offensive Player of the Year for her 25 hits, 30 RBIs and six home runs and was named Academic All-District.

Lee County murder, robbery suspect arrested in Gonzales
A suspect in a March 5 Lee County robbery-homicide was arrested last week without incident by Gonzales police.
