Mutton is the star here. Not pork, not chicken, but slow-smoked sheep, and it shows up on the buffet next to brisket, pork, and barbecue ham. That alone would be enough to raise eyebrows in most towns. This Kentucky landmark also serves burgoo, a thick stew made with mutton, chicken, vegetables, and seasonings.

What is the top-rated fast-food chain in America? It's not Chick-fil-A

Crumbl Cookies may be closing locations, but things are looking a little sweeter for Jersey Mike's. The sandwich chain knocked Chick-fil-A from the top of the fast-food customer-satisfaction rankings, ending an 11-year streak. Jersey Mike's debuted at No. 1 in the 2026 American Customer Satisfaction Index , edging Chick-fil-A by one point. The ranking comes as restaurants face tougher competition for increasingly cost-conscious customers. Here's what helped Jersey Mike's take the crown and where to find the chain in Ohio and Kentucky. The ranking is based on 16,464 customer surveys conducted between April 2025 and March 2026. Chick-fil-A remains the top-rated chicken chain, but Jersey Mike’s stood out for freshness, menu variety and value, the report said. The chain added 238 locations in 2025 and reached $4.2 billion in systemwide sales. The report notes the sub chain has maintained quality while expanding rapidly.
