West Virginia man works to boost solar industry in his home state

Ambulance service owner convicted of tax crimes
The owner of an ambulance service that operates in Mingo County has been convicted in federal court of tax crimes. According to a statement from the office of U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia Will Thompson, after four days of trial on May 2, a jury in Beckley convicted Christopher Jason Smyth, 48, of Pineville, for for failing to pay the taxes withheld from employees’ wages at an ambulance service he operated – Stat EMS — and for obstructing the IRS.
Bonnie’s Bus to offer mammograms in Chattaroy, Logan, Whitesville and Clendenin
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Bonnie’s Bus mobile mammography unit will visit Mingo, Logan, Boone and Kanawha counties offering three-dimensional (3D) digital screening mammograms and breast care education to women. PROCTORVILLE, Ohio (WSAZ) - The location of the old Lock and Dam 27 is a scenic access point to the Ohio River. Local leaders have maintained the property but have envisioned long-term plans that would need proper funding. Last week, Governor Mike DeWine announced a $5.2 million grant that will pay for a full-service marina at Lock 27.
