Lawrence man indicted on trafficking charges
A Lawrence County man arrested in December on drug trafficking offenses after an injury crash has been indicted by a Johnson County grand jury. Thomas Slone, 28, of Cains Creek Branch, Blaine, saw two of his trafficking charges for marijuana and psilocybin trafficking reach a class C felony level due to firearm enhancements.

Flood survivor celebrates new beginnings after century of family legacy
INEZ — Slone was 16 when she moved into the old house on land that her family lived on for over 100 years on Camp Branch in Inez. It was her home until a flash flood swept through the property in 2022, tearing up the century-old structure and leaving Slone to sleep on her daughter’s sofa.
