Lights being shut off in Erath this Friday, Oct. 9
ERATH — As of Tuesday afternoon, Erath remained on track to cut power this Friday for essential work at the town’s electrical facility on Lastie Street (old Hwy. 14) . According to Erath officials, the town is expected to turn off the electricity around 7 a.m. on Friday and turn it back on when the work is complete, hopefully, around 7 p.m. that same day. However, the plan could shift if the predicted rain arrives.

Buc-ee's , with its beloved beaver mascot and celebrated food items, is opening its first ever locations in Louisiana. The chain of massive travel centers is expanding into other states and will be opening one location in Northeast Louisiana and another in the South Central region of the state. The stores are expected to generate millions in revenue, employ hundreds of workers and welcome thousands of visitors daily. When is the Buc-ee's in Ruston expected to open? Construction crews have begun pouring concrete and laying additional groundwork for the Buc-ee's building in Ruston, which will be located off of Interstate 20 at the Tarbutton road exit. Ruston's Buc-ee's location is projected to open mid 2027, but this could be subject to change depending on construction progress, according to the City of Ruston . Once completed, the location will span more than 70,000 square feet and include more than 100 fuel pumps. BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Westlake Corporation is investigating an incident where an employee experienced a medical emergency on Saturday October 3 and later died. Westlake Corporation told WAFB the employee was found unresponsive in the unit, and emergency response teams provided first aid around 7:44pm.
