John Ross has not played in an NFL game since 2021, but the former first-round pick is trying for another chance in the league.

Ross will tryout for the Philadelphia Eagles at the team's rookie minicamp this week, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The No. 9 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington, Ross retired from football last year but is now attempting a comeback.

Ross last appeared in 10 games for the New York Giants in 2021, catching 11 passes for 224 yards and one touchdown. Prior to that, he spent four years with the Cincinnati Bengals, where injuries limited his ability to have an impact.

Ross played in just three games as a rookie before posting a 21-210-7 receiving line in 2018. He added 28 catches for 506 yards and three touchdowns in 2019 before making only three appearances again in 2020.

The 28-year-old wideout spent the 2023 offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs before announcing his retirement. At this point, Ross is clearly behind the 8-ball in terms of being able to get back into the league, but at least he'll have an opportunity to showcase himself this week.
