Fans Left Injured At Fillmore Concert Venue In Philadelphia
May 31st was the Backseat Lovers concert. Their opener was Field Medic, a band with a small yet growing fan base. During the opening set, 5 people collapsed in the crowds. Out of respect, the band paused to acknowledge the situation. The cause of the injuries is unknown but it is possible that it is due to a combination of claustrophobia, dehydration, and heat exhaustion. The venue provided water during the concert by passing cups back from the barricade. This was not very effective as there were too many people to be provided with water. Along with the factor of dehydration, temperatures were abnormally high in the venue, hence heat exhaustion being a contender. Luckily, the employees were able to extract each injured person from the crowd and deliver them to safety.
