Police search for missing man from Ramsey
RAMSEY, Minn. — Ramsey Police and the Anoka Co. Sheriff's Office are looking for the public's help in locating a missing 62-year-old man from Ramsey. According to a news release, Robert Scott Stelling was last seen leaving his home in Ramsey on Saturday afternoon; his vehicle was found a few hours later on the 22900 block of Rum River Blvd NW in St. Francis, but Stelling was not inside.
Brooklyn Park Community on Alert After Unexplained Gunfire Incidents, Police Seek Leads
Residents of Brooklyn Park were on high alert this week after reports of gunfire swept through their neighborhood. Tensions rose when at 10:05 p.m. last Tuesday, officers rushed to the 10000 block of Honeysuckle Ave. N. after receiving calls about potential gunshots. The exhaustive search that ensued, however, turned up nothing, as officers found no evidence that shots were fired, according to the Brooklyn Park Police Department.

A Maple Grove native died after a plane he was in crashed April 12 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. According to the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office, Alexander Foss, a 20-year-old Purdue University student, died after a small single-engine plane crashed. Unintentional county-wide shelter-in-place order due to ‘human error’
At 6:45 p.m. April 22, officers from the Robbinsdale Police Department responded to an armed domestic situation. “As is standard procedure, a shelter-in-place notification was sent out by the Hennepin County Communications Division,” the police department wrote in a note to the press. “This was to be sent to the impacted residences on the block. However, it was sent, unintentionally, to the entire Hennepin County.” The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office later released a statement explaining the message to all of Hennepin County was “human error” and they found “the step in the alert process that resulted in the mistake.”

- The following incidents were reported in the city of Independence. Monday, April 15 - An officer was on routine patrol and observed a vehicle with a flat tire on the 2500 block of County Road 92. The officer stopped and spoke to the driver who advised roadside service stated they wouldn’t be out for four hours. The officer transported the driver to his work and then figured out what to do with his vehicle. Tuesday, April 16 - An officer was on routine patrol in the area and observed a damaged vehicle at the intersection of County Road 92 and Highway 12. The officer spoke to the driver, and it was determined the car struck and went over the center island roundabout. Ultimately, the driver was arrested for a DWI. Pending results and charging.
