National Weather Service confirms EF-0 tornado near Minburn
MINBURN, Iowa — The tornado that touched down near Minburn Tuesday was an EF-0, according to the National Weather Service. A preliminary damage survey indicates the tornado was on the ground between 11:05 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Peak winds reached an estimated 85 miles per hour, with the path of the tornado measuring 6.8 miles.
Boone City Council approves proposal to bring Daisy Brand plant to town
BOONE, Iowa — The Boone City Council on Monday unanimously approved a resolution allowing Daisy Brand to move forward with plans to build a facility in town. Daisy Brand, known for products such as sour cream and cottage cheese, plans to bring 255 jobs to the area and invest $708 million in the Boone community.

Class reunions meet at the Bell Tower Festival
