Dallas County Sheriff’s Daily News Report June 7
Ethan Asche, Minburn, was traveling in the 26000 block of N Ave when he failed to yield to a vehicle that had slowed for construction on the road and caused a collision between his vehicle and one driven by Serenity Hulsebus, Grimes. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $1500 to Ms. Hulsebus vehicle and damages were estimated at $2000 to Mr. Asche. Mr. Asche was cited for Failure To Stop In Assured Clear Distance.
Dallas Center assault suspect tasered Tuesday by deputies
A Dallas Center man was tasered Tuesday in the course of his arrest on active warrants for assault and criminal mischief. John Robert Snyder, 40, of 18811 S Ave., Dallas Center, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, second-degree criminal mischief and interference with official acts.
Perry PD Has 40 Bikes for Purchase at the Property Sale on Friday
The Perry Police Department will have their Unclaimed Bicycle and Property Sale this Saturday to get rid of their inventory. Police Chief Eric Vaughn says that this sale will be from 8 to 10am at the Perry Police Department’s garage, located on 908 Willis Avenue. He says their storage space is filled with bikes and unused property they have collected throughout the years and this is a nice way to get rid of it at a fair price to the residents of Perry.

Ankeny, Iowa Residents To Navigate Around Three Major Road Projects
(Ankeny, IA) -- The City of Ankeny's asking drivers to be patient and allow for extra time to get to the destination, due to three major road projects. Crews began working on the largest project this week. Work is underway to wide the city's busiest intersection, just west of Des Moines Area Community College. Ankeny Public Works Director Mark Mueller says up to 25,000 vehicles travel on Oralabor Road near SW State Street (Highway 415) each day. He says due to the traffic volume as well as pedestrian and rising bicycle traffic, crews are planning to install an underpass to increase safety. Crews will begin widening the intersection this year and install the underpass next year.

Perry City Council Approved Severance Package of Perry Police Department Dispatchers
The Perry City Council met on Monday. The Council approved a severance package for the four full-time Perry Police Department Dispatchers who will be laid off on June 30th. The package includes $5,000 for each dispatcher and an additional $1,000 for those employees that stay until the end of June. The Perry Police Department’s Dispatch Center was discontinued after the equipment was deemed old and not up to requirements. They will also be absorbed by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office starting July 1st.

Free Merchant Movies Start Up Once Again in Perry
It is that time of year when the residents of Perry and the surrounding area can enjoy a free movie on the house. The Perry Grand 3 Theatre is once again offering free movies on Wednesdays beginning at 11 am through most of the summer. The first movie will be tomorrow and the movie will be “Despicable Me.” Admission is free and no tickets are required.
