Lucedale (Miss.) George County On300 quarterback Deuce Knight , a Notre Dame commit, will be back in South Bend this weekend for the Irish spring game.

Knight has been in the fold for head coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish since September, one of the jewels of a class ranked No. 5 nationally by On3 Sports.

The 6-foot-4 1/2, 200-pound Knight was recently invited to the Elite 11 Finals and is tabbed by the On3 Industry as the country’s No. 7 signal-caller and No. 59 prospect overall. He spent a couple days on the ND campus in March attending practice and looks forward to seeing the culmination of spring camp inside Notre Dame Stadium.

“I’m excited and ready to get back to Notre Dame just to see some football being played and being around good company!” Knight said. “I look forward to seeing (new offensive coordinator) Coach (Mike) Denbrock’s explosive offense and just being around all the guys again. I know most of the commits are going to be there.”

Knight will be happy to see all three offensive line commits including On3’s No. 1 ranked offensive tackle Will Black along with Matty Augustine and Owen Strebig . They’ll be there along with running back Justin Thurman, defensive linemen Joseph Reiff and Davion Dixon and linebackers Anthony Sacca and Ko’o Kia.

Who is Knight excited to recruit?

Jayvan Boggs !” he exclaimed.

The Cocoa (Fla.) High On300 receiver will be at Notre Dame for the first time. As Freeman and company put the finishing touches on this class, landing a dynamic pass catcher is one of the big needs and the 6-foot, 200-pound Boggs was just that as a junior helping his team win the state championship. A former Ohio State commit he turned 93 receptions into 1,493 yards and 23 touchdowns. On3’s Chad Simmons reported Boggs has a top seven of UCF, USC, Georgia, Missouri, Texas, Florida and the Irish. He has also set official visits to see the Knights (May 31), Trojans (June 7), Bulldogs (June 14) and Tigers (June 21). This is ND’s opportunity to make a move.

“I just wanna see what they have to offer,” Boggs said. “I hear a lot of great things about them so I just wanna go see for myself!”

Boggs says he has a good relationship with the coaches in South Bend and they are making him feel like a priority.

“Really just sitting down with coaches and seeing there plan for me if I were to come there,” Boggs said.

2026 prospects visiting

Notre Dame has one commit in the 2026 class in receiver Dylan Faison who will be on campus. Some top targets that could be on campus include defensive lineman Elijah Golden , defensive ends Evan Harvey and Trenton Henderson , linebacker Cincere Johnson , MarKel Dabney , Maurice Barnes and safety Nick Reddish .
