39-year-old man killed in crash after hitting Zebulon Road bridge with mounted drill on truck
MACON, Ga. — A 39-year-old man is dead after a crash that has shut down parts of I-475 north at the Zebulon Road overpass, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Witnesses reported that a Kenworth construction vehicle was going up I-475 when the mounted drill of the vehicle was extended upwards. The driver tried to go under the Zebulon Road overpass when the drill hit the bridge.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Fort Valley once again has an interim city administrator after a close council vote. Two weeks ago, the council fired previous interim administrator Jonathan Harris over crimes uncovered in his background check. He had only been on the job for about a month. On Thursday, after about eight minutes of discussion and a 4-3 vote, the council named Gary Lee, their development director, as the new interim administrator.
Macon-Bibb commission allocates $2 million from commissary fund for jail repairs
MACON, Ga. (WGXA) -- The Macon-Bibb County Commission authorized the supplemental appropriation of $2,000,000.00 from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office commissary fund for jail repairs and upgrades. $1 million will be used to purchase additional magnetic locks within an older section of the jail. The additional million is allocated toward contract services - including plumbing, electrical locks, and miscellaneous jail repairs.
