Downtown a buzz at First Friday event
May 3 brought the return of Jackson’s First Friday event, organized by Jackson’s Downtown Development Authority. Held on the Jackson town square from 6:30 to 9 p.m., the event featured food from food trucks and Jackson restaurants and participants gathered around the square, in the new Browns Park and on the lawn of the Butts County Historic Courthouse to enjoy the evening. The next First Friday event is set for June 7.
New law signed to promote school bus stop safety in Ga.
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Governor Kemp has signed Addy’s Law, a bill that is meant to improve school bus safety. House Bill 409 is named after 8-year-old Adalynn Pierce, who was killed after being struck by a vehicle while trying to get on a school bus. That happened in Henry County back in February.
Jackson-Butts County Library announces 2024 Summer Reading Program
