Obituary: Langford, Joseph C.
Joseph C. Langford, 89, of Little Hocking, OH, passed away on May 27, 2024, at home with family by his side. He was born at home in Linn, WV. December 31, 1934, was the first child of the late Hale and Beatrice Conner Langford. Joe was a 1952 graduate of Harrisville High School, Harrisville, WV. He continued his education at Salem College, Glenville State, and graduated in 1958 from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Joe was a 6-year U.S. Army veteran, stationed for 2 years at Schofield Barracks Hawaii. He retired from Dupont after 33 years as a mechanic in central shops. He was a member of the Belpre Church of Christ, a past volunteer for the Washington Bottom Community, a past president of the Washington Lions Club, as well as a supporter of Wood County 4-H for many years. He was a past board member for both the Wood County Fair and the WV Interstate Fair. He enjoyed his senior bowling league at Pike Street Lanes. Joe was a hard worker from a young age on the farm and the sawmill. He lived his daily life showing his work ethic and believed anything worth doing needed to be done right the first time. He demonstrated love, dedication, and patience to his family and friends. Joe was happiest on his tractor, puttering in his building, being outside with nature, or listening to country music. Joe was an avid WV Mountaineer fan.

Juanita Fay Buckbee, of Rockport, WV, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at WVU Medicine, Camden Clark Campus. She was born January 29, 1944 in Wood County, WV the daughter of the late Earl and Elizabeth Holbert. She was a member of Slate Chapel Church and she enjoyed camping and being outdoors.
