Montoursville, Pa. — A 24-year-old man reportedly led police on a high-speed chase in excess of 110 mph on a motorcycle in Montoursville.

Officer Chris Herb was on patrol May 12 around midnight when he spotted a motorcyclists traveling at a high rate of speed on Loyalsock Avenue, he said. Herb got behind the bike and turned on his lights and sirens, according to charges.

The driver, later identified as Phoenix N. Dodds, allegedly failed to stop and instead turned onto Interstate 180 headed west. Once on the interstate, Dodds accelerated to speeds in excess of 110 mph, Herb said.

Dodds took Exit 23 onto Third Street, where he allegedly cut through traffic, wove in and out of lanes, and popped a wheelie — all while speeding. Dodds was blocked by traffic at the red light near Red Lobster, where he was taken into custody.

Dodds is being charged with felony fleeing, careless and reckless driving, failing to obey traffic control signs, making improper turns, and failing to have a registration plate on his vehicle.
