The California Labor Commissioner’s Office (LCO) has fined five Wingstop fast-food restaurants in Kern County, and their owner, Clinton Lewis, for violations of wage regulations. The fines total $3,161,606. Lewis set up separate corporations for each restaurant, giving the impression that each was a different employer. This meant workers were not given a higher minimum wage, overtime pay, and missed meal breaks when they worked at more than one Wingstop owned by Lewis.
