MontiArts’ mosaic art project looks to beautify downtown
MONTICELLO — An $8,000 grant from the Central Minnesota Arts Board will help the city to further expand its artistic goals, adding more vibrance and color to a downtown in transition. Friday, May 10 is Childcare Provider Appreciation Day and Wright County Health and Human Services would like to thank all licensed childcare providers who make a difference in many lives. Provider Appreciation Day is celebrated the Friday before Mother’s Day every year to recognize providers of young children and give gratitude for those who support the social, emotional, and physical care of our children. Learn about American flag in program at Senior Center

Can’t stop, can’t be stopped. Hayden Miller is the Athlete of the Week for his unbelievable season with Monticello boys’ tennis. Miller, who primarily plays one doubles, is undefeated this season. He went 2-0 last week. Miller and teamed up with Wyatt Hanson and beat the team from North Branch 6-0, 6-3. Then he and Ethan Kuhn beat the pairing from St. Francis 6-0, 6-4.

‘Scouting for Food’ in Monticello
Local Boy Scouts canvassed the City of Monticello on Saturday, April 27 collecting food donations for the Monticello Help Center in their annual ‘Scouting for Food’ drive. Artists sought for visual showcase
BECKER — The Sherburne Area Visual Arts Showcase (SAVAS) committee is issuing a call for artists for its 2024 show, slated for June 10-15. It will be hosted at the Sherburne History Center, located at 10775 27th Ave SE in Becker. SAVAS features fine art and photography by adult artists from the local area. There is a $25 registration fee to enter, and the deadline to register is June 1. Two awards with cash prizes are issued each year.
