Warriors rout Bennett, stay unbeaten
EASTON — Easton High’s high-octane offense has deservedly drawn plenty of attention this season with its big-play potential every time the ball is snapped. The Warriors defense has also shown a knack for the big play, and Friday night that unit delivered arguably its finest performance of the year Jordan Horsey returned an interception for a touchdown for the second time this season, and Easton recorded four sacks — two by Nevin Whitaker — en route to a 42-0 homecoming shutout of James M. Bennett at Warrior Stadium. “Just through this week of practice we focused on doing everything right,” said Horsey after the Warriors improved to 5-0 with their first shutout of the season. “And we came out today and put out a good showing. Defense executed well.” Easton scored touchdowns on four of its first five possessions in the first half for a 27-0 lead. That edge was bumped to 33-0, when Horsey, a senior inside linebacker, picked off Clippers quarterback Harrison Moore and romped 35 yards into the end zone for his second pick-six of the year with 6 minutes, 47 seconds remaining before halftime. “My team puts me in a position to make a play, and

Dickerson, Easton rush past Bucs
STEVENSVILLE — Trent Jackson was impressed by what he saw from Easton High senior Ja’Zir Dickerson on film. Kent Island’s first-year head football coach may have been even more impressed after watching Dickerson in person last Friday. Dickerson carried eight times for a season-high 169 yards, which included touchdown runs of 72 and 77 yards, and returned an interception 101 yards for another score Friday night, as the Warriors routed the Buccaneers, 49-7, at Andy Schipul Stadium to remain undefeated. “He’s a talented player,” Jackson said of Dickerson. “He showed a lot of things on film and he proved his worth. He’s a dude. “They’ve done a nice job distributing the ball to their guys so far this year,” Jackson added of Easton, which improved to 3-0. “I thought he was the one that was due for a game at some point. They had a nice plan and they did a nice job getting him the ball.” On the game’s first play from scrimmage, Dickerson slanted through the right side of the line and raced 72 yards untouched for a touchdown. Jax Michaluk tacked on the first of his seven extra-point kicks for a 7-0 Warrior lead 18 seconds into
