This weekend at Piazza Italian Market we are tasting the Chianti Classico DOCG ( ($25.95) from the Istine Winery in Radda In Chianti, Toscana. The black rooster decal on the bottle’s neck designates this wine as being from the original Chianti Classico designation whose boundary was determined by a race between knights from Siena and Firenze and that boundary still exists today. Istine’s three vineyards are located in Castellina in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti and Radda in Chianti. Even in warm vintages, the family’s 20 hectares thrive in the high altitude and rocky soils of their three vineyards.

County approves ARPA funding, number of bills
EASTON — Nearly $2.3 million in ARPA funding to nonprofit organizations and county departments was approved by the Talbot County Council on Tuesday. SUN: New Key Bridge expected to be 24% taller than predecessor
BALTIMORE, Md. — The new Francis Scott Key Bridge is expected to be longer and taller than its fallen predecessor, but not steeper. A 143-page Maryland Transportation Authority document seeking a “categorical exclusion” — meaning the rebuild won’t require a yearslong process analyzing alternative bridge possibilities — was approved by the Federal Highway Administration this week. In it, the authority outlined the new bridge’s potential dimensions, which would satisfy Coast Guard parameters.
