William C. Jason High School served Black students
William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in Georgetown served the Black students of Sussex County from 1950 through 1967. Prior to Jason, segregation meant Black students could only get an education at small schools that went to the 10th or 11th grade. For many Black students to earn a high school diploma, they had to attend the high school department at Delaware State College or Howard High School in Wilmington. The construction of Jason provided opportunities for students who were unable to travel north.

Harvey, Hanna & Associates, Inc. has purchased the Crosswinds Motel at 312 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach. Terms were not disclosed. The 23-room Crosswinds Motel opened in 1998. Harvey Hanna will renovate the property. It’s the second project in Rehoboth for Harvey Hanna, which did a makeover of the former Sand Castle Motel, now a boutique hotel branded as Coast Rehoboth Beach, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

The existing infrastructure cannot support this. The existing natural resources cannot survive this. The majority of the existing population here does not want this (to my knowledge).
