Miami in top 4 for local top-60 receiver with official visits locked in

Pembroke Pines (Fla.) West Broward four-star receiver Joshua Moore isn’t planning on committing until later this summer, but with four official visits now locked in, the No. 57 overall prospect in the On300 is including Miami in his group of top schools.

The 6-foot-3.5, 205-pound wideout and No. 9 receiver in the 2025 class will take official visits to Miami, Florida State, Florida and Georgia this summer before likely making a decision in July or August before the start of his senior year. Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson and receivers coach Kevin Beard dropped by West Broward to check up on the four-star prospect in the last several days and have made Moore feel like a major priority, he said, and have him excited to make the trip to Coral Gables for his June official visit. Florida’s staff also dropped by West Broward to check up on Moore.

He also visited all four schools for spring practices in March and April. He believes Miami, Florida and Florida State have done the best job communicating with him, and he’s remained interested in Georgia as well.

“I feel like those are like my four right now, but some other schools could still come and push in because I’m not locked in with anything right now,” Moore told CaneSport . “Right now I’m still trying to find my way through it and take my time in the process, because I don’t want to make the wrong decision. I’ll keep God first.”

Moore has been in constant communication with Beard and head coach Mario Cristobal for some time, although most of Miami’s offensive staff has been involved in Moore’s recruitment in some way. Moore said talking to Cristobal “always puts a smile on my face,” and he has developed a close relationship with Beard.

He said relationships, player development and academic support will all play significant factors in his recruitment.

“Just come get developed, that’s what they say,” Moore said. “I know KB is a really good receivers coach. I hear from coach Cristobal, coach (Pop) Cooney, everyone.”

Florida receivers coach Billy Gonzales and Florida State receivers coach Ron Dugans have both kept their respective schools in the mix as well, Moore said. Florida producing a first-round draft pick this past season in Ricky Pearsall and Florida State having multiple wideouts selected both caught Moore’s attention as well. Georgia’s continued dominance has also helped the Bulldogs’ case.

    CaneSport’s Take

Miami has made clear it wants to get physically bigger at receiver moving forward, so grabbing 6-foot-3.5 local guys ranked in the top 60 seems like a no-brainer. Regardless of where he initially commits, other schools should still have a chance to flip him before signing day. In-season results could also play a factor in where he ultimately signs as well, although he plans to be committed before the beginning of the fall season. If the team he initially commits to implodes and starts heading on a steep downward trajectory, it could cause him to lose interest in the school.
