Two injured in overnight shooting in Troy
TROY, N.Y. (WRGB) — Troy Police are investigating a shooting that injured two people on 4th Street near Madison Street early Sunday morning. Authorities said that Troy Police Department Patrol Officers responded to the reported shooting around 1 a.m., and found two victims that had been hit by gunfire. In a social media post, police said that they were initially told the victims had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

LATHAM, NY (WRGB) — A standoff early Sunday morning on Swayze Drive in Latham. Police say they arrived on scene to investigate what was originally called a property damage hit and run crash; that's when they say a suspect barricaded himself in a house he wasn’t allowed to be in, due to a restraining order.
An Albany woman gets one year in jail for shoplifting
A Clifton Park woman was sentenced Friday to one year in jail for stealing $1,800 from a Clifton Park store. Cristina M. Cassidy, 21, took the items from Kohl’s in October 2022. She was arrested in January 2023. Cassidy pleaded guilty in January 2024.
Amsterdam man gets up to 11 years in prison for robbing two ice cream shops
An Amsterdam man was sentenced Friday to up to 11 years in prison for robbing two Saratoga County ice cream shops. Daniel P. McKay, 41, had previously admitted that on Sept. 3, he entered both the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop in downtown Saratoga Springs and the Stewart’s Shops in Malta just off the Northway. McKay implied he had a weapon and demanded cash from the register, the Saratoga County District Attorneys’ Office said. McKay did not actually have a weapon.
Missing 10-year-old boy Albany boy located
ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — UPDATE: Albany Police report Jaiyden has been found. Albany police are attempting to locate 10-year-old Jaiyden Abear. Jaiyden was last seen on Friday, May 10, 2024 around 2:40 p.m. in the area of Academy Road and Helderberg Avenue. He is described as 4'11" tall, weighing 90 pounds, with brown eyes and hair. He was last seen wearing a green camo shirt and green army pants.
