Limestone’s First New Fire Truck in 30 Years
LIMESTONE, Maine (WAGM) - Limestone’s Fire Department is getting its first new fire truck in over 30 years, and it won’t cost taxpayers a dime. Limestone Fire Chief Jon Poitras says Wednesday, August 19th, the town’s selectboard approved the purchase which will replace Tanker 1 in the department. Poitras says the new truck will cost around $540,000 in total and be paid for through the town’s capital reserves meaning it will not affect the town budget.
