Recount is possible in Benson School District operating levy referendum
(Benson MN-) A recount is possible in the Benson School District Operating Levy Referendum. After adjusting for a counting error in one precinct Tuesday night, the Minnesota Secretary of State's Office says the referendum passed 1317 to 1313. Benson Superintendent Julie Beddow Schubert says recounts aren't needed for a ballot question, unless any person eligible to vote on the ballot question requests one...a written request must be filed with the city of Benson's filing officer, and it has to have a petition with the signatures of 25 voters eligible to vote on the question...upon receipt, the Auditor of Swift County would then recount the ballots at the district's expense...The Benson School Board will canvass the results at their meeting next Monday.

Jeffers, Olivia and Lynd Among Recipients of More Than $33,500 in SMAC Grants
The Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (SMAC) has awarded $33,532 in grant funding to seven organizations, five schools and one individual artist. The SMAC board approved the grants October 24, including $14,131 for organizations through its Quick Support for Organizations program, $15,425 through its Arts in the Schools program and $3,976 through its Artist Equity program.
