Red Wing man charged in infant’s death
A Red Wing man has been arrested and charged for an infant’s death. The Red Wing Police Department arrested Hunter McCutchen on May 25. “The Goodhue County Dispatch Center received a call on May 23 about a two-month-old baby not breathing in the 500 Block of Maple Street in Red Wing,” the department stated in a news release.

A 2-month-old baby's death has stunned the Red Wing, Minnesota, community, and an 18-year-old man named Hunter Matthew McCutchen is now being charged with several crimes. McCutchen faces four counts of manslaughter and one count of endangering a child with bodily harm or death, placing him in the middle of a legal maelstrom. On May 23, 2023, a distress call was put to the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office reporting an unresponsive child at McCutchen's home in Red Wing. This started the tragic events that would follow.

Authorities Investigating Deadly Memorial Day Fire in Pine Island
Pine Island, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says a deadly Memorial Day fire in rural Pine Island is under investigation. Captain Tim Parkin says deputies responded to a medical call at a home in the 9200 block of County Rd. 5 Northwest, which is about 15 miles northwest of Rochester, shortly before 6 p.m. Responding deputies found a subject with severe burn wounds outside of the home.

Cannon Falls community rises in support of local business owner
The Cannon Falls community stepped up this past week to support one of its own: the Dairy King, its owner Emin Yilmaz and his family. Yilmaz was forced to close Dairy King this past winter in the aftermath of the tragic earthquakes that struck Turkey at the beginning of February. Yilmaz lost numerous family members in the earthquakes and he and his family spent the last few months in Turkey. Tax fraud means probation for SE Minnesota man
WABASHA, Minn. – A southeast Minnesota man accused of not paying nearly $800,000 in sales and income taxes has been sentenced. Nicholas Joe Graves, 42 of Mazeppa and formerly of Oronoco, took a plea deal and was ordered Tuesday in Wabasha County District Court to spend five years on supervised probation.
