House near Zumbro Falls at a total loss after fire
ZUMBRO FALLS, Minn. - Several fire departments responded to a house fire in Gillford Township Thursday afternoon with all residents out of the house during the blaze. The Lake City Fire Department arrived first on the scene. However, due to the extent of the fire, the Zumbro Falls and Mazeppa Fire Department were called for assistance to tame the flames.

Another phone call, another person tricked out of hundreds of dollars
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Police Department (RPD) says criminals continue trying to trick people out of their money with phony legal threats. RPD says a 46-year-old Byron woman was recently swindled out of $1,200. The woman says she got a phone call from someone claiming to be a captain with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office. The woman says she was told she missed a court date and was in contempt of court. The caller said the woman had to pay $9,000 to avoid arrest, but that amount was eventually lowered to $1,200.
Wanted Rochester man accused of resisting arrest
ROCHESTER, Minn. – A wanted man is accused of resisting arrest on Thursday morning. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says deputies went to the 2300 block of Valleyhigh Drive NW just before 9:30 am Thursday to try and serve an arrest warrant on Jabriel Meeks, 21 of Rochester.

Man takes plea deal after violent confrontation with Olmsted County deputies
ROCHESTER, Minn. – A man arrested after a violent confrontation with deputies has pleaded guilty. Andrew Joseph Fogan, 28 of Stewartville, was arrested on September 20, 2023, after a traffic stop in the 6500 block of Highway 52 in Olmsted County. The sheriff’s office says Fogan and the female driver were acting suspiciously and deputies determined Fogan had committed a domestic assault in the vehicle.

Law enforcement says Rochester doctor was calling himself a widower before his wife died
ROCHESTER, Minn. – A new search warrant filed in the murder case against Connor Bowman shows investigators looking into his activity on an online dating site. The search warrant, filed Tuesday in Olmsted County District Court, asks for information about Bowman’s Bumble account and any status changes or communication related to that account between July 2023 and October 2023. The search warrant says women told law enforcement they had communicated with Bowman via Bumble just weeks after his wife’s death, that Bowman lied about how and when his wife died, and that Bowman was identifying himself as a widower to prospective dates before his wife actually died.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Silver Lake Pool has had a lot of changes over the past few months. This past Tuesday the Rochester Park and Recreation board had a meeting regarding some of the changes. Some of the changes are a bath house and pump house. Director Paul Widman says making these changes are necessary.
