Former daycare owner’s malicious punishment of child trial moved to June
(ABC 6 News) – A former daycare owner’s trial on a single charge of malicious punishment of a child–less than substantial bodily harm was rescheduled for the summer. Christina Morland, who ran an in-home daycare called Nawni’s Nest in West Concord, was accused of grabbing a child, lifting them off the floor, and slamming them back to the ground, causing bruising, in September of 2023.
Kenyon city administrator departs without public explanation after closed meeting
After 11 years as Kenyon’s city administrator, Mark Vahlsing was abruptly released from his position on April 1 without warning or a clear explanation, leaving the city of Kenyon temporarily without even a temporary administrator and launching an immediate search for a replacement. Pine Island Citywide Garage Sale kicks off
ABC 6 NEWS — Friday, April 26 will see the beginning of the Pine Island Citywide Garage Sale, hosted by the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber says that there will be over 50 sales happening both in-town and in the country surrounding the city, and those sales will feature items such as furniture, household goods, clothing, jewelry and more.
K-W robotics team shows off 2024 robot
After a solid showing at a recent competition, Kenyon-Wanamingo’s robotics team showed off its latest contraption and shared a bit about its latest work with members of the Kenyon-Wanamingo School Board and Superintendent Beth Giese. Rebels can’t hold lead against Cobras
The United South Central Rebels baseball team lost 7-4 to the Triton Cobras on Monday, April 22. The Rebels jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. However, the Cobras came back with three runs in the bottom of the first for a 3-2 lead.
