NBA Fans Applaud Clippers Forward Paul George After Outstanding First Half

Paul George lit social media up on Sunday afternoon.

With Kawhi Leonard (knee inflammation) out, George took charge of the Clippers as Los Angeles built a 66-49 halftime lead.

The nine-time All-Star had 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc.

The Clippers desperately need a win on Sunday to avoid a 3-1 series deficit. They lost on Friday, 101-90. In that game, George was 3-of-11 from the field and scored seven points, his fewest since Game 6 of a first-round series as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2018.

"It's a star player rising to the moment," said color commentator J.J. Redick in response to George's magnificent first half.

He wasn't the only one praising George.
