SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Spotswood High School varsity softball team took on Allentown High School on Thursday in an out of conference game. Spotswood fell to Allentown 4-1. Gabrielle Hill and Hannah Graulich had the lone hits for the Chargers in the game. Graulich's single drove in Hill, who scored Spotswood's only run of the game. Ava Mormile took the loss on the mound for Spotswood. Mormile went the distance, pitching seven innings and giving up four runs on eight hits. The junior struck out nine. ROSELLE, NJ - Roselle Varsity Softball had their best offense on display on Tuesday, defeating Lakewood 17-2. Multiple Rams hitters, including Alycia Searwar, Julianna Marte, and Lisa Frias, had two or more hits. Frias and Searwar each hit a home run with six RBIs combined. Janelle Stevens had a triple that brought home three runs. Freehold, NJ — Rising star at Freehold, Mark Herschberger, visited the winner’s circle four times on the 12-race Saturday (May 18) program. He got his first win in race two, where he took advantage of a perfect pocket trip and snuck up the rail to win with Pack Your Bags for Joe Gulotta.
Upsetters dominate Freehold Friday card
Frehold, NJ – Only two favorites were victorious on the nine-race Friday (May 17) program at Freehold Raceway. The card opened with a thrill in the first race. The 1-2 favorite, Dandy Idea, set the pace all the way into the stretch when her challengers closed in on her. This led to a blanket finish where five horses were within one length of the lead. When the photo finish was called official, it was 27-1 shot Neither Do I, who had the nose over the favorite. Scott DiDomenico was the winning trainer and went on to earn a training double. Jim Marohn Jr was the victorious driver and went on to earn a triple on the card. A win bet paid $57.80.

LINCROFT, NJ -- Christian Brothers Academy scored a run in the bottom of the 10th inning for a 2-1 baseball victory over Colts Neck in the quarterfinal round of the Shore Conference Tournament on Saturday. RUMSON — The Christian Brothers Academy lacrosse team was on the wrong side of a Rumson-Fair Haven comeback win earlier in the season and the Colts didn't forget that game. CBA got revenge and more Thursday evening in an 8-6 victory over Rumson to advance to the Shore Conference Tournament finals. Rumson-Fair Haven was also the team that knocked CBA out of the SCT the last two years.

LAKEWOOD - On Thursday evening, the Southern Regional Boys Volleyball team defeated Howell 25-22 and 25-21 in the Shore Conference Tournament Championship Game.
