Southern Boys Volleyball Wins Shore Conference Tournament Championship

LAKEWOOD - On Thursday evening, the Southern Regional Boys Volleyball team defeated Howell 25-22 and 25-21 in the Shore Conference Tournament Championship Game.

Southern has a record of 24-2 and is ranked third in the NJ.com poll.

In the semifinal earlier Thursday, the Rams beat St. John Vianney in two sets to advance to the champoinship. Howell beat St. John Vianny in the other semifinal to advance to face Southern.

This was the third straight Southern faced Howell in the SCT final.

An amazing fact is that the Southern team under Coach Eric Maxwell has won nine consecutive Shore Conference Tournament titles.

Southern is all set to advance to the state tournament where they hope to be the top team in New Jersey when it comes to a conclusion.
