Police investigate deadly overnight shooting near I-49 in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened overnight.

The shooting happened shortly after 10:30 Tuesday night near Interstate 49 and Blue Ridge Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot and tried to revive him. Paramedics took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man who died was identified as Ramon Brooks, a 29-year-old white man.

Investigators said there was an interaction between the victim and the shooter, and they’re treating it as a homicide. There is no word on the identity of the suspect or victim.
