Gastonia hotel room drug bust nets almost $1M in cocaine, fentanyl: PD
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A raid on two Gastonia hotel rooms netted nearly $1 million in cocaine and fentanyl, Gaston County Police said on Friday. Search warrants were issued on Tuesday regarding California residents Esmeralda Dominguez, 51, and Omar Herrera, 49. The warrants stemmed from a previous traffic stop. During a search of two Gastonia hotel rooms, approximately $390,000 in cocaine and $520,000 in fentanyl, according to the police report.
Lincoln commissioners alter procedure for ousting chair, vice-chair
LINCOLNTON – A motion was approved by a vote of 4-1 at a specially-called meeting held on April 24 to amend the Rules of Procedure for the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners to allow for the removal of a chair or vice-chair upon a vote of “no confidence” by a majority of the board. Should that occur, a new chair or vice-chair shall be elected at that same meeting.
