MOORESVILLE – Picture-postcard weather provided the ideal setting for Mooresville’s longest-running rite of spring Saturday as the day-long Race City Festival sponsored by the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce provided the platform to promote local businesses. With vendor tents lining two blocks of Main and Broad streets, the annual festival was stocked with booths featuring products and information about more than 100 local businesses, churches, service programs and community organizations. Multiple performance areas, food trucks, bounce houses and activities for all ages were also among the attractions, with a small train providing trips through the carnival-like midway. The Chamber-organized festival, a salute to the community’s deep ties to the racing industry, was jointly sponsored by Duke Energy, Mooresville Ford, Trackhouse Motorplex and the town. -- Photos by Lee Sullivan.
