Second arrest made in connection to February killing in Nampa
An additional arrest has been made in connection to a February homicide in Nampa. Twenty-one-year-old Elias Cervantes, of Nampa, was arrested around 8 a.m. Monday by Nampa police and charged with accessory to first-degree murder and two counts of destruction of evidence, according to a Nampa police news release. Cervantes is alleged to be connected to the Feb. 10 killing of fellow 21-year-old Nampa resident Fabion Angel Delagarza. Delagarza died in the street after he was shot in the early hours of Feb. 10 in the 2000 block of Fifth Street North; police believe the shooting was gang related. Eighteen-year-old Gustavo Sanchez Jr. has also been arrested in connection to the shooting; he’s also charged with accessory to first-degree murder and destruction of evidence. The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are possibly forthcoming, Nampa police said. 2 die in separate motorcycle crashes
Police are investigating motorcycle crashes that resulted in multiple deaths. The first crash, shortly after 7 p.m. Friday in Boise, occurred at the intersection of West Beacon Street and West Boise Avenue near the Boise State University campus. The motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed on Beacon Street when he lost control of the motorcycle, drove onto the sidewalk and crashed into a large tree, a Boise Police news release stated. The rider was ejected into the roadway and later died in the hospital. His identity has not yet been released to the public. The second crash occurred at around 9:20 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 95 south of Midvale, when a motorcycle carrying two passengers from Weiser hit a deer. The 48-year-old male driver was air-lifted to a hospital and the 49-year-old female passenger died at the scene, according to an Idaho State Police news release. Neither of their identities have been released to the public.
