MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Residents are voicing concerns after a piece of the Highway 167 Southbound overpass fell onto Interstate 20, requiring an emergency repair. Officials say it happened Saturday night when a hole formed on the bridge’s surface. A Downsville man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly struck a coworker at their place of employment. Lincoln Parish deputies responded to UPS Road about 1 p.m. Tuesday. Hit and run suspect arrested
A man wanted in connection with a hit and run accident was arrested late Tuesday night after he attempted to run from officers when found inside a local bar. Ruston Police investigated a crash that occurred on West California Avenue near Monroe Street Tuesday evening. Sometime later, an officer spotted a vehicle that was smoking from heavy damage to the front of the vehicle run a stop sign. By the time the officer learned the vehicle matched the description of the hit and run suspect, it had disappeared.

Gunshots in Ruston prompt arrest
Ruston Police arrested a Monroe man Monday morning after he fled the scene where gunshots had been fired. RPD officers responded to a complaint of gunshots in the 200 block of West Carolina Avenue about 8:30 a.m. Before officers reached the scene, a caller said the suspect was fleeing in a blue Ford Mustang.
