Woman booked on numerous traffic offenses
An Arcadia woman was arrested by Ruston Police on numerous traffic charges late Monday night after she was stopped for running a stop sign. Amy Lykins, 41, was stopped on West Kentucky Avenue in Ruston about 11:30 p.m. Monday. When Lykins could not produce a driver’s license, proof of insurance, or vehicle registration, a check revealed no license had been issued to her.

Haynesville Jr./Sr. High School sees biggest growth in LDOE Performance Score
On November 13, the Louisiana Department of Education released the 2022-2023 school performance scores for the state’s public K-12 schools and systems. All Claiborne Parish schools maintained the letter grade scored in the previous year with a few minor increases and decreases with Haynesville Jr./Sr. High School having the largest increase.

Local Football Legends Dyer, Reed, and Broadway Shortlisted for 2024 Black College Football Hall of Fame
Henry Dyer, Jake Reed, and Rod Broadway, all former Grambling State University (GSU) football figures, are finalists for the 2024 Black College Football Hall of Fame Class. Dyer, an All-American fullback, was GSU's first player to rush over 1,000 yards. He was a first-team All-SWAC from 1963-65 and was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1966.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - New court documents show the suspect in the stabbings at Louisiana Tech told authorities the attacks were not planned. Jacoby Johnson is charged with one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder in the stabbings of four people on campus on Nov. 13.
