The Sonoran Desert Traverse: 317 Miles of Dirt, Saguaros, and History

The Sonoran Desert Traverse is a 317-mile overland track that links California’s Coachella Valley to the western edge of the greater Phoenix area, and you can run it in either direction. It chains together a set of well-known routes, including the Bradshaw Truck Trail on the western leg and, over on the Arizona side, Agua Caliente Road, stitching old mining roads, sandy washes, and historic travel corridors into one long dirt line across the desert.
