Alumni in Action: Middaugh wins first-career Continental Cup road triathlon
Eagle-Vail’s Sullivan Middaugh, the two-time defending XTERRA USA champion, collected his first-career Continental Cup win earlier this month. The 20-year-old won the 2024 Americas Triathlon Cup in Calima, Columbia on May 5th. Middaugh completed the draft-legal road triathlon — which consisted of a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run — in 57 minutes, 6 seconds to take a 70-second victory over his fellow Project Podium teammate, Keller Norland.

Battle Mountain qualifies 2 golfers to 4A state tournament
Battle Mountain’s Makena Thayer and Lily Suman are headed to the state golf tournament next week in Colorado Springs. Thayer and Suman placed sixth and 21st, respectively, at Tuesday’s 4A Region 4 tournament at Foothills Golf Course in Denver and will compete next Monday and Tuesday at the Country Club of Colorado against the best 84 golfers in the state.
