OPINION: Berschauer put personal interests first; vote King for commissioner
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the actions of County Commissioner Lindsay Berschauer during her term. Rather than serving all county residents, Berschauer has put personal interests first — at the expense of our community. One concerning issue has been her termination of long-standing, beneficial relationships with key county partners that provide vital services to local families and businesses. Cutting ties with these organizations helps no one and only disrupts important programs. ...

A slow start has given way to what they hope is a fast finish for the Forest Grove High School baseball team. After losing nine of their first 12 contests, the Vikings have won five of their last six league games and find themselves tied for third in the Pacific Conference and working their way back into state playoff contention. Forest Grove head coach Justin Engeseth said they haven’t done...
OPINION: Oregon Zoo bond measure will help continue young learning
Voters this May will decide the future of one of the Pacific Northwest’s iconic cultural attractions, and I’m voting yes on Measure 26-244 to support investment in the Oregon Zoo. Oregon Zoo is a place of pride for our entire community. From field trips to Zoo Lights, the Oregon Zoo supports learning and memories across generations. Measure 26-244 will invest in the repairs and updates needed to ensure we keep this gem in good condition for many years to come. ...

Well, the center is hosting its second seasonal beer label design contest in collaboration with Lionheart Coffee Company and Binary Brewing Co. “Artists and designers in Oregon and Southwest Washington are invited to submit work to be featured on cans of beer that will be available at...
Hops Weekly: Wasted opportunities end in a series split with Eugene
The Hops earned a series split in their six-game series with Eugene this past week—but man, it could’ve been better. Twice Hillsboro snatched defeat from the hands of victory, primarily based on a series of walks, errors, and/or simply blunders. As a result, a great week became a mediocre one and left the Hops (9-12) in third place in the league standings and six games behind first place Spokane. Hillsboro...
