Wheeler Walker, Jr. With Colton Bowlin Hitting Davenport’s Capitol Theatre
Wheeler Walker, Jr. will be at Capitol Theatre, 330 W. 3rd St., at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 21st with Colton Bowlin!. Wheeler Walker Jr. is country music’s loudest outlaw, a hard-drinking, foul-mouthed hellraiser determined to drag country music back to its outlaw roots, whether Nashville likes it or not. Backed by top-tier session musicians and armed with a complete disregard for industry rules, Walker built a cult empire through brutally honest songs packed with sex, bad decisions, and unapologetic Southern swagger. Blending classic honky-tonk, outlaw country, Southern rock, and arena-sized attitude, albums including Redneck Shit, Ol’ Wheeler, WW III, Sex, Drugs & Country Music, and Ram turned Walker into one of the most controversial, and undeniably entertaining, figures in modern country music.

Illinois’ Old Railroad Museum Lets Kids Climb Aboard A Real Caboose For A Few Dollars
Grandpa’s stories about the old train days sound a lot better when your kids can stand inside the very cars he talks about. In one western Illinois town, a small volunteer-run museum sits right beside the active tracks, and families can step aboard a real caboose, a steam locomotive, and an old mail car for about the cost of a fast-food meal.

Many Paths: Galesburg recently lost a musical legend | Opinion
A couple of weeks ago, Galesburg lost a local music legend. Sadly, Sean Kistler left us way too soon. His outright love of what he did was always on display. I never saw a musician that seemed to enjoy his craft as much as him.He taught my son to play guitar over a course of time. He made my son a much better technical guitarist than myself. My son can work the full guitar neck better than I. I am bit of a hack but love to play. Sean on the other hand could master so many songs that I couldn’t even begin to fumble through. His musical performance choices were always top notch in my book as well. If it was a song, Kistler could play it. He had a penchant for rock, and he could bring much of that harder sound to an acoustic guitar. And let’s not forget his classical rendition of “Smelly Cat”.Sean was a huge lover of rock. I gleaned from his discussions and his social media that KISS was a big influence on him. With me, I grew up during a time when singer/songwriters where prevalent. I am talking about these greats: Dylan, Jackson
