Oakland man gets federal prison for COVID-19 PPP loan fraud conspiracy
An Oakland man and five others have been sentenced to federal prison for defrauding the COVID-19 Paycheck Protection Program out of millions, according to federal prosecutors. Frank Mosley, 58, of Oakland, and his brother Reginald Mosley, 60, from Sacramento pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud along with men from Elk Grove, Roseville and Rocklin. Freeway fire burns 2 acres
El Dorado Hills and Cal Fire firefighters teamed up to fight a string if small vegetation fires on the south side of Highway 50 near the Bass Lake Road exit Monday. The fires, which began right before noon, scorched approximately 2 acres right next to the freeway and briefly threatened one structure, according to EDH Fire Deputy Chief Michael Lilienthal.

Car crash into pole knocks out power in Orangevale neighborhood
ORANGEVALE – A car crash has knocked out power to an Orangevale neighborhood early Monday morning. The incident happened near Greenback Lane and Filbert Avenue. Exactly what led up to the crash is unclear, but a sedan ended up crashing into a power pole. No information about any injuries has been released. According to SMUD, 25 customers in the immediate area are without power due to the crash. Crews are at the scene and expect to have the power back on by around 9 a.m.
