NORTH AUBURN, Calif. — A vehicle was reported on the Grass Valley Highway near Holly Vista Way in North Auburn on Monday evening. The California Highway Patrol online logs indicate that a vehicle crashed into a tree and caught on fire. The collision was reported at approximately 7:20 p.m.

'Loud and clear': Folsom city officials hear community feedback on homelessness
Folsom city officials say they want to make it "inconvenient" to be homeless in their community. During this week’s city council meeting, Mayor Mike Kozlowski reported back on findings of a “listening session” he and Vice Mayor Sarah Aquino held April 11 with community members. During that session, about 90 Folsom residents provided feedback on how the city can best confront its growing homeless problem. Kozlowski called the session “fantastic” and said it provided great feedback. While there were vastly differing views on how the city should address its homeless problem, Kozlowski said there was one common thread:

A Mexican Fine Dining Restaurant From Two of Sacramento’s Top Chefs Opens This Summer

Two of Sacramento’s most-hyped chefs are teaming up for a highly anticipated new Mexican restaurant. Cantina Pedregal will open in Folsom, just east of Sacramento, this spring. The restaurant comes from Brad Cecchi of East Sacramento’s Canon and Patricio Wise of Roseville’s Nixtaco, both of which have been designated as Bib Gourmand restaurants in the Michelin Guide. Wise’s restaurant Nixtaco debuted in 2015 to huge acclaim, with dishes such as a fried avocado taco with chipotle-peanut aioli garnering him and his wife Cinthia Martinez recognition from Food & Wine magazine. Cecchi, a Sacramento-raised cook, earned a Michelin star at Calistoga’s Solbar before showing the city what he could do at his own restaurant; he opened Canon with co-owner Clay Nutting in 2017.
