School lunch periods should be longer
How is lunch supposed to be a meal if it only lasts 20 minutes? In most schools, including Edison Intermediate School (EIS), students have only 20 minutes to find a seat in the lunchroom, wait in line to buy their food, eat, and still find time to talk with friends. Instead of having a relaxing break in the middle of the school day, students have to race against time to survive the rest of the day. In EIS, students have 40 minutes, split into 20 minutes for lunch and 20 minutes for recess outside. Consequently, EIS can enforce a 30-minute eating period and a ten-minute recess period because it helps students perform academically, prevents waste and insect problems, and allows them to eat healthier food options.

Drew University Announces Tuition Freeze for 27-28 School Year
As of Nov. 4, 2026, Drew University has announced that there will be a tuition freeze for all undergraduate students during the 2027-2028 school year. A tuition freeze occurs when a university decides to maintain the cost of tuition for a set amount of time, rather than increasing it as the cost of living also increases. All students who are currently enrolled as undergraduates or have been admitted to the school for the 2027-2028 school year will not see any increases in tuition for that set amount of time.
