Self-proclaimed ‘four-star general’ in Bloods gang gunned down in N.J.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton police are investigating the fatal shooting of a reputed leader of the Bloods street gang on Friday night. Sharief Treadwell, a self-described ‘four-star general” of the Trenton Gangsta Killa Bloods sect, died after being shot in the area of Oakland and Hoffman streets. Trenton police were alerted to shots fired around 8:42 p.m, and spotted a car careening down Hoffman Street, smashing into several parked cars, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Excessive Force Allegations Lead to $675,000 Settlement with Bound Brook, NJ Police
BOUND BROOK, NJ — An out-of-court settlement has been reached over allegations of excessive force during a 2015 arrest by the Bound Brook Police Department. The borough will pay $675,000 to Alfred Lawson of Union County, who claimed police assaulted him while he was handcuffed. The settlement, initially reported by Transparency NJ, was agreed upon in March.
