WAUSEON — A Fayette man admitted to several misdemeanor charges here in Fulton County Common Pleas Court alleging that he caused the traffic deaths of three persons.

Adon Glass, 21, pleaded no contest to three counts of vehicular manslaughter, each a second-degree misdemeanor, and he was found guilty of each.

A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.

Three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, each a second-degree felony; and a charge of aggravated vehicular assault, a third-degree felony, will be dismissed at sentencing as part of the plea negotiations between Fulton County Prosecutor T. Luke Jones’ office and Glass’ attorney, Stevin Groth of Toledo.

The felony charges had alleged that Glass was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he caused the death of three people while the third-degree felony makes the same allegation when he caused the injury of a fourth person.

The three misdemeanors also alleged that Glass caused the death of three persons, but does not include the OVI allegation. The charges stem from a two-vehicle traffic crash on April 28, 2023 on U.S. 20 near Lyons in northeast Fulton County, which took the lives of two Toledo adults (Cara Charland, 32, and Robert Thomas Jr., 37), as well as a juvenile passenger, Rosalie Thomas, 1, while injuring another child in their vehicle, Yvonne Thomas, 9. Glass also sustained injury and was hospitalized.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Glass was operating a Volkswagen hatchback that collided with a Chrysler Sedan driven by Charland. The Chrysler reportedly flipped and caught fire. Charland and Robert Thomas Jr. died at the scene while Rosalie Thomas died several weeks later.
