Jonesborough BMA opts not to raise property taxes
Jonesborough residents won't have to worry about a property tax increase this year. Jonesborough’s Board of Mayor & Alderman passed on first reading its proposed $19.7 million budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The budget was unanimously approved during a special called meeting Wednesday, with Jonesborough Mayor Chuck Vest expressing his gratitude toward town staff for their effort on the documents.

Johnson City man sentenced to 95 years in prison for murder and attempted murder
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WCYB) — A Johnson City man was sentenced to more than 95 years in prison for murder and attempted murder, according to officials. Billy Anderson was sentenced earlier this month in the shooting death of Brionah Tester in March 2022 and for stabbing a fellow inmate with a broken lightbulb in October 2022.
