Mother, daughter make history with GFWC
Past GFWC District One President Gina Clark and newly elected GFWC District One President for 2024-2026 Grace Ann Clark are mother and daughter. Attendees at the spring General Federation of Women’s Clubs District One meeting saw history repeat itself when Grace Ann Clark of Erwin and GFWC Erwin Monday Club member was installed as the president of GFWC District One. She will lead the district for the administrative term of 2024-2026. Prior to being elected president, she had served in various capacities on the local, district and state levels of the General Federation. She follows in the footsteps of her mother, Gina Clark, who is a past GFWC District One president.
Gay Whitt School of Dance to hold summer classes
Gay Whitt School of Dance of Erwin has announced that summer dance classes will be held Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18. Summer classes for jazz, stretch, leap and turn will be held for ages 5 to 7 from 4:15 to 5 p.m.; ages 8 to 10 from 5 to 5:45 p.m.; and ages 8 and older from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m.
