“JIMMY” MAKES NATIONWIDE DEBUT TODAY
A much-anticipated film about Indiana native Jimmy Stewart debuts across the country today. The film “Jimmy”, distributed by Fathom Events, hits theaters today in the US, but it has had a couple of preview screenings in Indiana: one on Sunday as an invitation-only gala event that raised money for the Wreaths for Indiana County Veterans and last night at a preview screening for the public at the Tuxedo Cinemas at the Indiana Mall. The film stars KJ Apa as Stewart and covers his life from when he wins the Oscar for “The Philadelphia Story” to joining the Army Air Corps in World War II, then dealing with the horrors of war during and after the fighting as he starts to film “It’s A Wonderful Life”. The film also features Max Casella as Frank Capra and Jason Alexander as Louis B. Meyer. The film was directed by Aaron Burns.
