Westmoreland County, state police search for teens who fled juvenile detention center
Two teenagers escaped from the Westmoreland County Juvenile Detention Center in Hempfield Saturday night. Robert A. Cogdell, 14, and Braedon M. Dickinson, 16, both of Connellsville, fled on foot from the detention center around 8:30 p.m., according to state police. Westmoreland County Park police are leading the investigation with assistance from state police.

Raising Cane's, the famous chicken finger chain has opened its second restaurant in the Pittsburgh area at 298 Lincoln Hwy. This is coming months after the popular chain opened its first Pittsburgh area location at 3610 Fifth Street across from the University of Pittsburgh. As expected, customers lined up for hours on the opening day waiting to try the chicken fingers at the new location on Route 30 in North Versailles.

In the first incident, the parents of a 5-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed his 3-year-old sister were sentenced to probation and house arrest. The father received six years of probation with the first year on electronic home monitoring, while the mother received four years of probation. Both were also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. In the second incident, a judge ruled that video footage of a Pitcairn man attacking and killing an Uber driver could be used in court. The accused is scheduled for trial in January.
