It might not be the most played song on your playlist, but you’ll still hear it every time a massive sporting event is about to kick off. I’ve personally heard The Star Spangled Banner several times while attending college football games or Detroit sports contests in Southeast Michigan and the rendition at the NFL Draft was no disappointment.

Performed by Detroit’s own Caleb Carroll, the beautiful acoustic rendition of our national anthem also came with a flyover finale to open up the NFL Draft. Known as the birthplace of Motown and Techno music, ‘The D’ will also be the beginning of a new chapter in the NFL.

“If you know me at all, you know it’s NFL round 1 tonight!! A beautiful rendition of the National Anthem!!” Apat4real! wrote.

“Now that was a great national anthem,” James Dukes posted on X.

“National Anthem and fly over complete. 10 minutes out,” Dave Boucher wrote looking forward to the first overall pick.

If Detroit really wanted to spice up the national anthem they should have gone with Zoey Holmstrom ’s idea.

“Can’t believe Eminem didn’t sing the national anthem,” Zoey wrote.

“OK, that was a pretty great #NationalAnthem, Caleb Carroll,” @docllv wrote.

“Elegant tone-setter, NFL Draft: this National Anthem rendition by Caleb Carroll. Book him for every event. Bravo,” Lynn G. Henning posted.
